Jess is the Director of Next Summit.
With more than twenty years' experience leading teams in complex, high-pressure environments, she has developed a reputation for making sense of complexity and helping teams and organisations solve the problems that matter most.
A systems thinker by nature, Jess has an ability to recognise patterns that are often overlooked, connect seemingly unrelated challenges and understand how decisions made in one part of an organisation influence performance elsewhere. Rather than treating leadership, culture, capability or systems as isolated issues, she believes organisational performance emerges from the way they interact.
This perspective became the foundation of the PACE Theory—a practical framework for understanding how Performance Environments shape human effort, organisational interactions and ultimately performance.
Throughout her career, Jess has worked in environments where the consequences of poor decisions are significant and the pace of change is relentless. Her experience has reinforced a simple belief: sustainable performance is rarely achieved by asking more of people. It is achieved by intentionally designing the environment in which they operate.
Whether designing organisational frameworks, evaluating Performance Environments, developing capability programs or coaching leaders, Jess combines analytical thinking with practical application. She is known for asking better questions, challenging assumptions and helping organisations uncover the conditions that are truly shaping performance.
Outside of work, Jess is a wife, mother, lifelong learner and outdoor enthusiast who believes curiosity is one of the most valuable leadership traits. She enjoys reading, exploring new ideas and spending time with family—experiences that continue to shape both her thinking and the way she works with others.
